A Sunny Sunday quilt stack. |
It's that time! Quilting Time! The best time of the day- well at least in my eyes. Welcome, sweet Lovelies. Please join me and sit for a spell. May I offer you a cup of tea for your drinking pleasure?
Buzz! Buzz! We have a swarm!
Mr. Pinker was inspecting the bee traps and lo and behold one of them had a swarm in it. Last Wednesday night, he closed the trap door so he could capture them the next day.
The nuc box was ready for them to be transferred in.
It was a good hive and the transfer went off without a hitch! Woo Hoo! π―ππ―π
Patriotic cross stitching and quilts are being pulled out. Below is Little Liberty Manor, Mollie William's Homestead, and Beelieve in Freedom
Five more berries were appliqued for my Scrapberries Quilt and by the beginning of the week, the Scrapberris quilt top was complete.
Can you tell that it was a blustery day? |
Ginger says have a Sunny Sunday! |

7-UP BISCUITS Servings- 6-8 people
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups of biscuit mix
1 cup of sour cream
1 cup of 7-Up
1/2 cup of melted butter
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Pour melted butter into baking dish.
3. In a large mixing bowl , cut sour cream into the biscuit mix.
4. Add the 7-UP and combine into the dough until mixed.
5. Flour your rolling pin.
6. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll until it's about 1 inch thick.
7. Using your lightly floured biscuit cutter or a Ball canning lid cut your biscuits by , pushing the biscuits cutter straight down. Do not twist because twisting seals the edges of the biscuit and prevents the biscuit from rising as height.
8. Place all the biscuits in the pan with the melted butter.
9. Bake until golden brown about 20-25 minutes.
10. ENJOY!
As Always...
Happy Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

I'd say you had a very productive week! The new stamp is fabulous. Not a very productive week in my little corner of the world. Big sigh!!! Tomorrow, tomorrow ... sing it with me, Melisa. LOL Happy Sunday to you! DJ
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, sometimes we have those kind of weeks. I hope the new week is a whole lot better on the production end, Darlene. Mine started off slow so we shall see how much I get done this new week. Hee! Hee! Hugs.
DeleteI hope you can meet your goals this week. The new cross stitching looks so cute, happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Gretchen. I hope I can get most of my goals complete. The grandchildren get out of school this week so I am sure they will keep me on my toes. Lol. I wish you a fabulous week. Hugs.
DeleteMelisa, your Sunny Sunday quilt stack is bright and cheery. Enjoy stitching your Strawberry Jam and Biscuits pretty.
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Kim. I have to admit that I enjoy the sunny yellow quilt stack too. I am always looking for an excuse to make little stacks to enjoy for a spell. Happy quilting sweet friend. Hugs.
DeleteHope the new hive does well. Bee's need all the help they can get these days. Enjoy your slow stitching today, you've definitely got a fun project to work on.
ReplyDeleteWe went to the barn to look at them on Monday. They seem to be doing well. That is the largest hive that we have caught and they were gentle too which was nice. Thank you for the sweet visit, Kate. Hugs.
DeleteStrawberry jam and biscuits….yum! Gail at the cozy quilter.
ReplyDeleteLol we love our jam and biscuits. Thank you so much, Gail for the sweet Sunday visit. Hugs.
DeleteI think you must never sleep or you are having stitching dreams constantly!!
ReplyDeleteLol I wish I did not have to do that old sleep thing. I will have to live to be 200 years old to do all the things I want to do. Hee! Hee! Thank you so much, Vicki for bringing a smile to my day. Hugs.
DeleteSo you basically kidnap, errr bee-nap the bees? ;) I bet they are happy to have a place where they are taken care of so lovingly. Your little stitchery is so cute. That looks like a wonderful biscuit recipe. I bought some biscuit mix last year and never used it - I'll have to see if it's still good and give this a try.
ReplyDeleteLol I love that, LInda! Yep we beenap them. Hee! Hee! We are too cheap to buy a hive and since we live out in the country we put out the traps and wait and see. We have been very fortunate. Let me know how the recipe turns out , Linda if you try it. We love our biscuits. I have several different biscuit recipes that we enjoy. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteLet's hear it for honey bees! Yay! Great job, Mr. Pinker. The bees have a new home and will thank you with loads of honey! Sweet strawberry quilt. I hope you make time to start quilting that one!
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo for the bees! Oh yes, we were so happy , Susie. I enjoy having the bees and I especially enjoy watching them work. I am looking forward to receiving a bit of honey come harvest time. I put the strawberry quilt in the hoop and finished one strawberry last night. I am excited to work on this one. Have a great week and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteLooks like you had a fun and busy week, Melisa! It's so interesting to see how things work with the bees. I love your strawberry dishes, too. Thanks for sharing the sweet new stamp. I'm looking forward to starting another of those this week - haven't decided which one yet, though. Have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteIt was a busy week. I hope this week will be just as busy though it has started off a bit slow. Lol. I am learning something new all the time with the bees; they are very interesting. Diann, I am so excited and honored that you are stitching these stamps along with me. I hope you enjoy. I will be starting patriotic soon. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Pentecost Sunday and happy embroidery day, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Aah thank you so much, dear Isabel. I hope you had a blessed and beautiful day, dear friend. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteGlad Mr. Pinker was successful in catching/trapping/transferring the swarm! Your Strawberry quilt looks good. What a sweet design with the biscuits and thanks for sharing the recipe!
ReplyDeleteWe were thrilled with the new hive, Robin. We went out to check them yesterday and they seem to be adapting to their new home well. Hopefully, they will continue to enjoy their new home. Thank you for the sweet Sunday visit. Hugs.
DeleteYour Strawberry quilt block is so pretty!! And those little yellow baskets are darling...
ReplyDeleteNot very productive quilting week for me...but that's how it goes sometimes!!
Hugs, Julierose
Aaah thank you so much, Julierose. I put my strawberry quilt in the hoop and have begun the quilting process. I hope that this new week is productive for you; sometimes we have those kind of weeks don't we? This week has started off slow for me so I hope to get in the groove as well. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteLove your strawberry quilt top, Melisa! So cheery and fun! And the patriotic pieces that you've set out are wonderful. I was just thinking that I need to get mine out this coming week for Memorial Day... How on earth can Memorial Day be in just one week?!?! Glad the bee transfer went well--do you ever work around the bees or do you leave it up to your husband? I'm afraid I would be too scared! Enjoy your week and thank you for the yummy sounding recipe and the cute chart ♥
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to finish the strawberry quilt, Carol. I put it in the hoop and now have one berry quilted. I hope to work more on it this week. I love the bees and watch hubby work them, but alas I am allergic to them if stung. I do however go out to the hives. After being stung badly , last year, hubby bought me my own bee suit so that is what I wear now when viewing. We have one hive that is a little ornery. Lol. Enjoy your week and happy quilting.
DeleteGlad Mr. Pinker was successful in adding to his bee colonies. How many hives does he currently have? I sure like your strawberry quilt!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteWe were over the moon to catch another hive and this one was one of the largest that we have caught. I believe we have 6 hives now and all of have been caught here on the farms. They are amazing creatures and fascinating to watch. Thank you for the sweet visit, Terry. Hugs.
DeleteSo much to see and study in today's post. WAs there any doubt that you would get a lot done? Such a busy gal you are. Yeah for Mr. Pinker! A new hive. He has the touch and it worked. I love the mason jar stitches. Wow! That is a biscuit recipe I have never heard of before! Yum! Biscuits and jam! Thank you for the sweet stitch. Another lovely lily. Ginger's such a pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteI felt like I got a lot of things done this week, Ginny. We were so excited to capture a new swarm; they seem to be happy and are doing well. I would have never thought of 7 up in biscuits , but it works. Lol. Thank you so much for the sweet Sunday visit. Hugs from the holler.
DeleteLove the quilt stack Melisa! And the strawberry stamp looks delicious! You certainly have a busy week ahead. π€Barbara @flashinscissors π♀️☺️ππππxx ππππππππ
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara. I hope you are having a great start to your week. The little quilt stacks always make me happy especially when they are bright and cheerful. Thank you for the sweet visit and I wish you lots of time in the garden stitching away. Hugs.
DeleteI love your posts. I am definitely going to try the biscuit recipe on our next camping trip.
ReplyDeleteAaah Marsha, that means so much to me. I hope you enjoy the biscuit recipe. I wasn't sure how 7 up would work in biscuits , but ours are always so light and fluffy and a little bit sweet. Have a wonderful rest of the week. Hugs.
DeleteYour biscuit recipe sounds awesome!! I am going to save it in case I ever make biscuits again!! LOL Thanks for the new strawberry stamp - so cute! Your Sunny Sunday quilt stack is soooo cheerful!! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings!
ReplyDeleteThey are very tasty! We make several different types of biscuits, but I have to admit this one is a favorite. Thank you for the sweet visit, Brenda and I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend. Hugs
DeleteMelissa you had an incredibly productive week, and got out camping, too! That’s amazing. I so enjoy seeing your next stack of quilts getting ready to come out and play. Your Strawberry quilt is a really beautiful finish. Thank you for sharing your pattern and the biscuit recipe. I’ll be making the biscuits for dinner tonight? Thank you for linking with ToDo Tuesday.
