Spinning with Glee with a Native Star Log Cabin Block!

I did it! I did it!  Picture me spinning around in glee!  What did I do? Well, finished a block thank you very much. Hee! Hee!

I know . I know . Not everyone is going to jump for joy just for finishing a block but nowadays , I am one happy gal just to get anything finished. Sigh. 😏

Since getting back from our camping trip. Hubby and I have been running like a couple of  chickens with our heads cut off- running here and there and everywhere. "Cluck, Cluck"  Actually, there is some family sickness that is keeping each of us busy, but we are doing the best we can. So if I disappear for a short time , it may be due to that. But I am going to try to stay afloat. Like Mr. Pinker says it is just a bump in the road of life.

Anywhooo... back to my finish. Eeeeh I am spinning in glee again.

I am in love with Melva's new Little House on the Prairie Quilt Along. If you have not joined in, there is still time. It is free through the duration of the the quilt along. So if you are  so inclined, hop over to Melva Loves Scraps , grab the patterns and join in all of the fun. And perhaps you will be spinning in glee just like me!

Today I will work on Block 3  Harvest Basket . Gosh, I better hurry because  tomorrow Melva releases the Shoo Fly block!  (Oooh  that is one of my favorite blocks to piece! Squeal  ! 🤗. )

I better get to movin' if I am going to catch up with Melva. Have a delightful day.

As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Thank you for the sweet visit.

I got to see a spot of snow on Monday which promptly melted a few hours later, but...

...it did give me a chance to finish  "Easter Peeps" by Helen Daily. It is a freebie available on her Flosstube channel #77  posted March, 2, 2021 video . Now to add some trim.

Happy Stitching, Sweeties!

  5. Your new blocks are beautiful. In fact I went over the Melva Loves Scraps to see the QAL. I'm going to save the block instructions. Interestingly enough, I don't have any fabric that would fit the Little House look. Oh sure, I could buy some - wait....uh-oh. Shhh - don't tell dh - I may have to shop around. ;-) LOL! Hope everyone is better on your end soon - oldest dd and family are just getting over theirs. Sigh. Blessings!

    1. Hee ! Hee! A gal has to have a little fabric acquisition every now and then. I think a new project qualifies for a treat. LOL. I am so glad that your dad and family are starting to feel better. It was a terrible cold/ and flu season. Have a wonderful evening, Donna . I am glad you are going to be saving Melva's patterns for a future project. Hugs.

  12. The quilt blocks are delightful! Please share what floss colors you used on your Easter piece!

    1. Hi Missy. I actually used flosses that I had in my stash from years ago. They were a mix of J P Coats brands and ones that no longer had their labels. I tried to mimic the Peep colors. I am so touched that you liked them. I sure wish I had the DMC numbers to share. Have a blessed day. Hugs and thank you for the sweet Wednesday visit.

  13. good morning lovely lady Melisa.
i have missed you so much. i have enjoyed these last three days because i get to visit with you. i am so happy you are home safe and i pray the sickness that is going on in the family is remedied soon. prayers are on the way to you and your beautiful family.
i just love the blocks you have made with Melva's little house on the prairie quilt along. i have gone onto Melva's site and am printing the block patterns out and i have begun to pull fabrics for the quilt. i don't have any 30's fabrics so i am using what i have - a mixture of various colors. i have also pulled the red, white and blue fabrics for Alycia's winter 2026 quilts of valor quilt along. i am walking on clouds with two "free" patterns. i can't wait to begin. i have a little bit of an issue getting in my sewing room, however. i think i told you that my daughter, Andrea, who lives in Arizona came to stay with me when i had my back surgery. i needed to get my sewing room straightened up right away because she had purchased a bed to sleep in while here and, of course, she chose the obvious - set up camp in mom's sewing room. anyway, the bed is folded up and taking up quite a bit of room as the bed awaits her return on April 9th. Andrea will be staying with me again for three weeks as i am recovering (can you hear me clucking because i am a wee bit chicken) from a total knee replacement of my right knee. i know everything is going to be fine and the end result will be awesome.
enough of me. i am so happy you are home and continuing with your blog. after checking my emails in the morning the next thing i do is check for Melisa's blog post and then onto jo's country junction. those are two blog posts i enjoy so much. thank you Melisa for being part of my day and getting my morning started on a positive note.
i hope you are well. Mr. Pinker is well and the rest of the family recovers very, very soon. thank you for all you do. you are truly an inspiration.
blessings and love are coming your way. have a wonderful, blessed day.
    hugs,

    1. Good morning, dear Debra. I have been thinking about you. I do hope that you are doing well. I know that you will feel much better after your knee surgery is completed as well as the therapy. It is such a blessing that your daughter will come to stay with you . It really makes a difference when you have family there for you in your time of need that is for sure. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Will you be able to move a sewing machine into another room for easier access? Oh please do keep me posted on how you are doing. I am so glad that you are going to join in on Melva's and Alycia's QAL's . I have been gathering fabrics for both. Now to get started on Alycia's. I loved the last one I pieced. Thank you for making my day special. Lots of hugs and love.

  21. I’ve thought about quilting, but I’m a stitcher and I already have a room FULL of stitching goodies and projects now and for years to come. Of course your salt boxes have been added to the now and future!! Thank you!!

    1. Oh Kellee, I know what you mean about being reluctant to pick up a new hobby when you already have plenty of stitching projects to work on. I consider myself more of a quilter but hubby has joked that my cross stitching has taken over the house like my quilting which he probably is right. But it is a blessing to have a hobby that brings comfort and joy. Right? I am so touched that you have added some of my salt boxes to your future stitching list. I have a new one coming out Friday. I hope you like it. Have a blessed day and Happy stitching. Hugs.
