Oh my, just look at this absolutely adorable face! Cute as a button!❤❤❤ Right . But "Beware!" There is a chipmunk on the loose and she wants your threads ! Hee! Hee! ๐ ๐งต
Well after entering Colorado, we found the most peaceful delightful camping spot.
Mr. Pinker maneuvered Big Red and the ole' camper between the trees. " I think we will stay here a few days, " said Mr. Pinker.
"Fine with me," I replied.
Each day I was greeted by the most adorable chipmunks or ground squirrels. They kept coming closer and closer. One day , I ran back into the camper to retrieve my camera in order to take some photos of the wildlife.
This little fella was another visitor. Do you know what kind of "rodent " he is? He is cute too.
Blue Stellars would perch above us in the trees or flutter down to the rocks nearby. Every now and then they would chirp away.
Mr. Pinker and I enjoyed hiking around the area.
The aspens were just beginning to put on their leaves.
The view up on the hill was so pretty.
In the evenings, I worked on my Around the Garden blocks.
One day, I had my blocks sitting out on the camp table. Being thirsty, I hustled back into the camper for a drink. When I returned , to my dismay I encountered a little chipmunk busy burrowing itself into my thread bag!
"What's in the bag? " ask Miss Chipmunk. |
The hole Miss Chipmunk made in my bag! |
Was this little gal stealing my thread? ! Oh bother! "Not today, dear, " I replied. I shooed the little gal away and quickly gathered my supplies. All my thread was here. Hee! Hee!
Was Miss Chipmunk curious or did she have an impending project that she needed to work on? Well, I guess I will never know.
Being a little flustered after the visit from Miss Chipmunk , my last flower block was a little wonky, but that is ok. It will remind me of Miss Chipmunk.
Sweeties, that is my tale from the campfire today. Thank you so much for dropping by for a visit. See ya' later! And you have an awesome day yourself. ๐๐ค

Oh what an adventure you have. And how cute the chipmunks are. I remember, when we were in the Rockies some years ago, on Mt Revelstoke the chipmunks were so curious. I could caress them. My husband took a foto.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your tour,
Gabi
I'm so glad this adventure is much more tame than the hair-raising one you had with the "too close neighbors". What beautiful scenery!
ReplyDeleteOh how funny! I think I hear a chipmunk quilt calling your name!
ReplyDeleteI did a google lens shot of your chipmunk - a gray collared Lodgepole or Uinta chipmunk. Love google lens - sure could have used it when we homeschooled! Glad to see this part of your journey has been stress free - unless you count that busy chipmunk! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful assortment of pictures you shared, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteThose chipmunks can be very destructive, the little stinker!! You better keep your threads and fabric close by!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and what a fun adventure with your new little friend!
ReplyDeleteHow naughty this funny squirrel is!
ReplyDeleteThe block turned out beautifully.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful Photos!
Hugs
Those little chipmunks sure are cute, but they sure can cause a lot of chaos! Glad you spotted him before he ran away with your threads :) Lovely photos from your latest adventures, Melisa! Safe travels! ♥
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is going to be beautiful. Glad you and Mr. P are having a great time. Be safe in your travels. Love the chipmunks. We are not sure when and where we start our travels, but I am looking forward to them. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to be so close to nature !
ReplyDeleteHaha! Fun story of encountering a sewing chipmunk!!!
ReplyDeleteBe careful. Those little rodents also love truck wires too. My friends had an awful time with them chewing their wires. Stay safe. Margie\TN
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful place to camp, and I love your green Around the Garden blocks, too! Those center flower appliques are so fun. That pesky little chipmunk - what do you suppose she thought was in there?
ReplyDeleteVery cute story! I think she was just trying to help you but got carried away with her excitement. LOL DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteThat must have been one crafty chiipmunk! Your flower blocks are looking good even if one is a little wonky. Looks like you found a very pretty spot.
ReplyDeleteI think you encountered 2 different families of chipmunks. I wonder what she was after. Wonder if she was attracted to the colors. You got some great photos. The Stellar Jays are so pretty. The latest flowers on your Around the Garden blocks are so cute. Sort of remind me of thistle blooms.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to thank you for the last bit you wrote. Sharing your patterns for the Around the Garden pattern you are designing is so generous.
ReplyDeleteYou tell the best stories, Melisa. I'm glad the chipmunk didn't get into the thread. I can't imagine what attracted her.
ReplyDeleteAh,my favorite animal! Aren't they cute? Enjoy your campertrip Melisa up to new adventures! Love from the Netherlands....
ReplyDeleteYour photos are amazing! Very close encounter with nature, but luckily no harm to you, your blocks, or the little sweetie. I wonder what she was looking for? Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
