A Day of Quilting

"What ya' want to do today?" asked Mr. Pinker.

"I want to spend the whole day sewing," I said with a sigh as I slumped on the couch.

"Well get up and get going,"  said Mr. Pinker  with a grin. "What's stopping you? "

"Aaaah, I sure do wish my sewing room was cleaned up. I am a Messy Missy in my quilt room."

"I know, I know, " said Mr. Pinker as he shook his head.

"I sure could us a big strong man to help me clean it. "I said with a sly grin.  Hee ! Hee!

Mr. Pinker stared  intently at the TV. I could clearly see he was pretending he did not hear that statement.  😳😀📺

"Alrighty,"   I said as I jumped from the couch. "Off I go." And with that I hip hopped to the quilt room in search for fabrics for a little quilt.

"Hmmm  what color fabrics should I use ?" I  said, as I rummaged through piles upon piles of fabric and scraps. "Eureka I found it ! "I shouted as I spotted a stack of country fabrics.

Fabrics waiting to be cut.

"What dear ?" asked Mr. Pinker as he sat in the living room.

More country fabrics.

 Hmmm  he heard me.

"  Aaww ,  I found a broom, dear.  Do you want to come help me clean? "I asked jokingly.  Hee! Hee ( Can you see the devil in me?😀😜😂)

All I heard was crickets in response.

Oh well, who wants to clean when I can play with fabric. The cleaning detail will have to wait until I get a better plan on how to lure him into the quilt room. Hee! Hee!

With a swish and a swoosh, soon my rotary cutter was cutting away on red and neutral fabrics.
1 1/2" squares cut.

And then with a  "Hum Ho Hum" the sewing machine began to sing as I pieced little friendly stars.

Wee  half square triangles.

Soon Mr. Pinker peeked ever so quietly around the corner of the doorway.
Wonky stars and four patches

"Whatcha doing, dear? Cleaning?"  asked Mr. Pinker

"Nope that train has left the station. I am working on
a darling freebie from Bunny Hill Designs called A Merry  Little Christmas,"  I said as I concentrated on getting the perfect 1/4' seams.  ( That rarely happens. )

"That's going to be cute, "Mr. Pinker said . "You need any help?

This time he heard crickets.  "Chirp Chirp! "

I stared at my sewing machine like I didn't hear him. Hee Hee!

Then I said , "No, I will get you to help the next go around."

The background is pieced.

Lol. Mr. Pinker has never operated a sewing machine in his life. Hmmm , on 2nd thought , I could have got him to press the quilt squares though.

Oh Darn it - a missed opportunity! 😝😅

Anywhoo, I got a day of working  quietly in the quilt room. Then Mr. Pinker and I went out to eat.  I say it was a good day for us both.

I will needle turn applique my pieces.

No, the quilt room did not get tidied, but there is always tomorrow unless I find a squirrel to chase.

TO DO LIST
1. Finish appliqueing A Merry Little Christmas
2. Quilt on Scrapberries
3. Work on a cross stitch project or 2.

So tell me are you enjoying any time in your sewing / craft room?

Thank you for stopping by to visit me today.

Oh by the way , I  really did find a broom if you want to help me tidy. Any takers? Hee Hee!

Have an awesome day, Sweeties.

As always,

  2. Your little quilt is going to be so cute. I like how you changed it to winter. I worked on cleaning my sewing room and put up decorations outside yesterday. The temperature got up in the 60's so it was the time to do it. Now that my sewing room looks better maybe I can get in there this week and sew something. Have a blessed week and I pray you are feeling better.

  3. My sewing room needs a major cleaning and tidy up. I cleaned one shelf yesterday after noticing the dust bunnies and cobwebs were taking over…. Christmas sewing takes precedence over cleaning at the moment!

Cute little project underway in your sewing room!

    Cleaning can wait.

  4. (Little Penpen) sewing lasts; cleaning doesn’t! Lol I had to give up my sewing room and I have a big ole mess in the living room right now. I made 4 cute ornaments using one of your patterns. Cute cute quilt you are making!

  12. Finally, I did a sewing room clean and tidy at my house!!! Of course, I had to because I had the security tech coming to check all the window sensors. Too embarrassed to let a stranger see my sewing mess and couldn't get to the 2 windows without a thorough cleaning, LOL. (This job really only happens about 4 times a year in my sewing room!) I have enjoyed your last 4 blogs, and I am happily stitching away at Cardinal House!! Thank you so much, it is a beauty. I will be over as soon as I finish this little house to help you! Sending warm hugs from sunny Arizona.

  13. LOL at your post today. . .I'm glad you left tidying for another day! Anyone who can operate farm machinery can handle a sewing machine. Perhaps, Mr. Pinker shouldn't give that machine a try because he might find it more enjoyable than gasp, fishing! He might move you our of your space! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects

  14. sewing is a valid reason for letting all that will still be there when you are done sewing, to wait!
...and bless mr pinker for supporting you with dinner!!

  18. What a darling little Christmas quilt. Would make either a cute mini quilt, wallhanging, or pillow front. Thank you for sharing! I would love to come and help tidy up in your sewing room with the understanding that we come and repeat the process in mine! LOL Mine looks like a bomb went off in it right now. It's nuts!

  19. That little quilt by Bunny Hill Designs is adorable. I downloaded it and hope to do it someday soon. You and Mr Pinker reminded me of my husband, Ron and I. He'd walk into my sewing room and just stand there. So, I'd stop sewing and say, "May I help you" he'd look at me and say I just popped in to say Hi." I'd look at him and say, "keep loitering and I'll set up another machine so you can sew, too". Final words as he ran out of my sewing room "gotta go". LOL Gosh I miss that man!!! Can't wait to see what you have in mind for tomorrow. Yes, still at my daughter's. I left my bag of hand projects at home - picked up the wrong bag. Ugh!!! I'm not very happy with myself. Insert sad face!!! Darlene J
