Last week Mr. Pinker and I took ride to the Mennonite community a couple of counties over. It is always a delight to visit this small community. I hope you enjoy this ride out into the country.

I know this community! We go there often as my husband loves to go to the greenhouse. I haven't stopped at the quilt shop yet but I do have a friend that goes often.
ReplyDeleteOh how exciting, Pam! We love the greenhouses too; I always load up on plants come springtime and fall when the mums come out. We usually stop at several of the businesses. You will have to visit the quilt shop- lots of pretty fabrics there and gorgeous quilts as well. Thank you for the sweet Wednesday visit. Hugs and Blessings.

ReplyDeleteGreat cow pictures; my paternal Grand-pere was a dairy farmer--used to love to visit his farm when I was growing up...I can remember riding in the car and my Dad telling me the different kinds of cows....ah, sweet memories...Hugs, Julierose

ReplyDeleteYou would love it,Brenda. It is near Fall Creek Falls State Park in TN .I guess the closest town would be Spencer. They have all kinds of notions and gorgeous quilts too. ReplyDeleteIt was a nice day to be out and about. It started out rainy but soon the sun peeked out from the clouds and dried things up. The livestock is my favorite too. DeleteLooks like a beautiful drive and such interesting sights, too! When we were in Kentucky a few weeks ago, we were on some country roads like that - so pretty. We even saw an Amish horse and buggy trotting along! I love the fabric you found - looking forward to seeing what you make with it!

DeleteWhat a fun day in the country. The scenery is lovely. Love the look of weathered barnwood. Jersey cows are so pretty. Their coloration looks so soft. Makes me want to pet them. Your fabric choices are so bright and fun. Those 30's repros have such cute images on them. I'm sure you have something fun in mind already.
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful time, Ginny. The Jerseys were my favorite to see. They are so sweet but a little sassy too. Lol. We saw horses, sheep and ponies but no chickens this time. I already have an idea for the 30's fabrics. I wish I had bought more of those. Oh well maybe that means another trip. Lol. Happy Thursday , sweet friend. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Susie. It was a wonderful day to be out. We visited the greenhouses, the quilt shop and the general store. My favorite was just seeing the livestock and the farmers at work though. Oh yes, I am posting a Strawberry Mini Sampler on Saturday, my quilt top on Friday and a new Strawberry stamp on Sunday.
