Happy Spring, ya'll!!!
Today is officially the first day of spring.
Come on birdies. Sing till your heart is content!!!!
Mr. Pinker and I rolled in from our camping trip yesterday evening. I do not have any photos to share for we had a cold weekend with spurts of rain and yes even a few snowflakes. ⛈❆๐ฒ
Mr. Pinker's fishing tournament was cancelled and so he happily chauffeured me around to any thrift shop that was in a 20 minutes drive. So you can imagine I was one happy camper. ๐๐
No grand finds this trip , but a few knick knacks to fill my thrifting pleasure.
I couldn't resist a bowl full of teeny clothespins. They may go in a mason jar for the laundry room. The grape tea pot will be on display come summer time.
Mr. Pinker found the cross stitch clock. I had to have it. He even found the Air Force badge for my daughter.
I needed the baskets like I need a hole in the head, but they are oh so cute!!!!
The crystal candy dish went in and out of the buggy several times. Then the candy dish whispered" You know you want me"
And of course , I smiled and said " Yeah , I do!"
So off it jumped into my buggy all for the price less than a happy meal. Can't beat that with a stick.
Then the stitchery hollered and said " You can't leave me behind!" So it jumped into my buggy too. It was mayhem I tell you. ๐๐
Isn't the stitchery darling though?
So enough about thrifting adventures .
Do you have any plans for today? I will be putting away my St. Patrick's Day decor and pulling out more spring of course that will be in between loads of laundry. I also look forward to catching up on blog reading and IG. I do have a spring stitch to share with you. It is simply called SPRING.
I stitched this last year, but did not finish it until the other day. I found a silver tray in my stash and mounted it on it and added a bow made from Dollar Tree ribbon. If you are interested in stitching Spring ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts.
NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues. Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print. I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.
I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding . I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.
Alright my sweet friends. I do wish you the most blessed and beautiful first day of Spring and I hope your week is filled with joy and love!!!! Because you are the best and you deserve it!!!!!❤❤❤
Thank you for dropping by for my Monday Rambling.
As always,
Happy Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

This quilt is called "Garden Blooms" and is a design from Piece o' Cake. It originally was published in 2008 in the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. Becky Goldsmith still has it for sale as a downloadable in her shop.
Dedicated to my dear sister, Amy. I miss and love you so much.
Oh don't forget today starts the Green Apple Blog Hop so if you have a chance drop by these lovely ladies and see what they are up to.

Hej sweet Melisa,
ReplyDeletegreat finds! I love old things....the embroidered clock is so fine! We are gonna have holidays in sweden again this year and there are many flea markets in old barns. Thank you for the spring freebie, it is so nice :0) hugs from Denmark, Ulrike :0)
We had a great time searching for treasures, Ulrikes. I have already put the clock on display and it works perfectly. Oh flea markets and barn sales would be so much fun to attend. I love it rummaging and looking for antiques. I hope you find a slew of treasures. Hugs.
DeleteDon't the cardinals seem extra red this Spring??!! I'm just loving them this year. Great finds on your camping trip. We saw a few flakes over the weekend too. Sweet Spring stitchery will brighten any room.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Susie. Our cardinals are very vibrant and even the bluebirds are as well. I enjoy watching them at the feeders. The weather has been crazy here lately. I hope that it is starting to warm up in your area after a cool weekend. It is supposed to warm here by the end of the week. Happy Spring. Hugs.
DeleteI'm sorry you had such crummy weather for your camping trip. It's like this all over I think - woke up to 49 degrees this am - and I'm in FL!
ReplyDeleteLove your cardinal shot - my faves.
Thank you for the Spring freebie - so cute.
Blessings
Brrr now that is cold for Florida. I think it was in the 20's this morning here. I was a little spoiled by the warmer weather we had last week. Lol . I hope it will warm up this week though. Happy Spring , Donna. Hugs.
DeleteFinally spring has arrived!!
ReplyDeleteIn Seville where I live today we have a beautiful blue sky and 25 degrees of temperature!!!!
A paradise!!!
I'm glad you found new testos on your walk.
Enjoy the week.
Hugs
Eeeeh! Spring!!! It sounds so beautiful there, Isabel. I can imagine the bright blue sky and the sun beaming. I think we will see warmer weather this week. Happy 1st day of Spring. Hugs.
DeletePretty quilt in the last picture! I am sorry that the weather was cold and dreary and that Mr. Pinker's fishing tournament was cancelled. Bummer! But it looks like you came away with some lovely finds from thifting, Melisa! Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, That is one of my favorite Spring quilts. Lol the weather has been like a roller coaster, but we enjoyed being out and about. I think Mr. Pinker will enjoy the fishing tournament better when it is warmer so hopefully they will reschedule. Happy 1st day of Spring. Hugs.
DeleteAnother cute design and a great haul! Where do you get your pompom trim? I love the little pumpkins. Are they salt and pepper shakers?
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, dear Janet. I bought 20 yards of the 5 mm pom pom trim from Amazon for around $10.00 . That should last me awhile . Lol. I think it was labeled YYCraft Pom Pom Ball Fringe. Those little pumpkins have the cutest turkeys heads sticking out of them. Lol. They are salt and pepper shakers. They were too cute to pass up. Have a great evening. Hugs.
DeleteGreat finds! You and your hubby make a great pair!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Terry. You are the sweetest. Hubby and I have been together for many years. We are too peas in a pod. Lol. Happy Spring. Hugs
DeleteAnother cute cross stitch, you are just so generous, thank you!! I hope you have a wonderful week also!
ReplyDeleteAaah you are so kind, Vicki. Thank you so much. It was a fun quick stitch. Have a great week. Hugs.
DeleteSorry about the weather and Mr's fishing but it did have a silver lining with all the thrifting fun you had. The cut glass candy dish is a beauty and I really like the brown glaze pitcher. That style has a name but I can't think of it. Beautiful Spring quilt at the end. One of yours? Thank you for the adorable Spring stitch. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLoL Ginny I always say that if there is a drought in the area invite me to go camping there for rain is sure to follow, but we enjoyed every minute of our adventure. And I had a great time thrifting. I have always wondered what the brown glaze pitcher and crocks are called. I quilted the small quilt years ago ; it was a Piece o ' Cake design , but my memory fails me on the name of it. Hmmm. I am going to have to look that up. Have a great night. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Spring to you!! You found some great items!! I am so jealous!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words!! Happy Spring!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
Aaah thank you so much, Deb. We had a great trip and it was nice to visit some new to me thrift shops. Have a beautiful week. Happy Spring!
DeleteTrop mignonne cette grille spring ,merci Melisa .
ReplyDeleteJolies tes trouvailles .
Belle semaine et joyeux printemps
You are so welcome and thank you so much, Monique. You are always so kind. Happy stitching and a very Happy Spring to you. Hugs
DeleteSounds like it was a great alternative weekend to the original plans! I enjoy seeing your fun, funky finds! Love that needlework!!! It hardly feels like spring here, but I did notice the birds were out and about more yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time even though our plans changed plus finding some thrifty finds was a plus. The weather has been crazy. I am hoping for warmer weather this weekend. Happy Spring, Nancy.
DeleteHappy Spring, Melisa! You did have another good haul! That pitcher in the first picture (LOL) reminds me of my Mama's sweet tea jug! It was so heavy, especially filled with her wonderful tea! And that candy dish is AWESOME, and the stitchery as well! I'm definitely jealous of those finds!! Sorry your trip was cold and wet at times, but those store were a ray of sunshine to you, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time though the weather changed our camping plans. I always enjoy thrifting. I can just imagine how heavy your mom's tea jug was for this one is heavy on its own. I haven't thought about serving tea out of it , but that is a great idea , plus it is prettier than my plastic one. Lol. Hugs.
DeleteYour new design is beautiful Melisa, another one to keep in my to-do list for sure! Spring seems to finally arrive, at least the snow is melting! I long for green grass!
ReplyDeleteHugs
I am so glad that the snow is slowly melting. I hope that you will be enjoying Spring blooms very soon as well as the bright green grass. It has slowly been getting greener here. Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 80's which will be nice. Fingers crossed. Hugs.
DeleteI so love your country decorating! It's so inspiring and right up my alley. Your patterns are such a blessing I love all of them can't thank you enough for them.
ReplyDeleteOh Lori you are so very kind. I have enjoyed country decorating all my life especially anything that reminds me of my grandparents. It is so nice to hear that there are still others that enjoy this style. I hope you enjoy my little humble spring design . Happy Spring.
DeleteWhat a cute bunny celebrations of spring! Thanks for sharing. I also love the "Trust in the Lord..." stitchery. So cute!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Kim. I could not leave the prim stitchery behind. I rarely see prim stitching here . I love the sentiment as well. Hugs.
DeleteI always have room for another hole in my head. =) I like the little red salt and pepper at the top, so cute! Trust in the Lord is just perfect. Someone put all that time into it. I need to find things like that here, but I never do. =P Love the bowls and trays, too. A very satisfying thrifting time.
ReplyDeleteLol, Susan. You cracked me up- I guess I have room for another hole in the head too, because I certainly could not resist these finds. I look forward to hearing if you find any fabulous finds when you travel with your friend. Maybe ya'll will be able to find something fabulous. Hugs.
DeleteSuch a sweet Spring design... maybe it will be my Easter treat to myself as a new start!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Kathy. I am so honored; I hope you enjoy this humble little design. Have a great week and happy quilting and stitching.
