Wordless Wednesday- A Doily Addiction

Good afternoon, ya'll. If you are wondering how I am doing with my addiction to doilies,  well not too good!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ™„ I added 7 more doilies to my collection yesterday. I was in doily heaven ,but in my defense they were just 75 ¢. I will show you those in future posts.  For my NOT SO WORDLESS WEDNESDAY POST, here a just a few doilies lingering in the kitchen along with a bit of country clutter. We won't talk about the other country clutter addictions? Lol.

Oh, you might see a dust bunny or two, but that is real life, just shoo them away  . ๐Ÿค—

"May Peace Be Your Gift" is a freebie from Needlework Press and was posted on  their Facebook on Dec. 11, 2019.

I appreciate the sweet Wednesday visit.

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Melisa

Creative clutter is better than idle neatness.

Hugs and Stitches!!!!๐Ÿค—๐Ÿงต❤

Dedicated to my baby sister , Amy who often fed my doily addiction.  Love and miss you, Amo.

  1. I so understand. I have an addiction to vintage crochet doilies too. I also collect red and white vintage crochet potholders. I do use my doilies in my decorating though.

    1. Aren't they just treasures to collect? I wish I had the ability to crochet doilies, but alas I do not. I have a few crochet potholders. I bet your red and white potholders are adorable especially viewed as a collection. Hope you find some more to add to your collection soon, Joy. Thank you for the sweet visit.

  3. Doilies are so beautiful. I wish they weren't out of style, but I can't crochet any longer to make my own. As long as I'm wishing, I wish I had all the ones Mamo made in my growing up years, including the purple cover bottle cap grape hot pot holders. Yours are definitely a nice collection, exactly as I'd expect!

    1. Lol I will have to remember that and tell my hubby when he says anything about dust. Dusting is a never ending chore . Isn't it? My displays wouldn't be complete without a dust bunny or two. Lol. Have a great week, Chris.

    1. Oh thank you so much, Diana. It would be such a treasure if you had any of your dear grandma's doilies. I think that is why I like doilies so much myself for they remind me of my grandmothers. Hugs.

  12. So much goodness in this post! The Pepe & Salt shakers were so cute! I love the butter dish and completely agree! Everything IS better with butter! The doilies are so special. I have a few from my grandma and my gr'aunt. I can do that kind of work but it just isn't the same. Thank you for sharing, Melisa.

    1. Aaah thank you so much, Ginny. My mom bought me the salt and pepper shakers years ago. I have always had an affection for Bugs Bunny and the whole crew Including Pepe. Lol. I pulled out the butter dish the other day; it has been in the cupboard and the flowers made me think of Spring and yes I agree everything is better with butter. Lol. How wonderful that you have some of your grandma's and great aunt's doilies. I bet they bring back fond memories. I hope you have them out so you can enjoy them. Hugs and blessings

  15. Such coziness! I too love doilies and I make some but out of thicker cotton yarn and I have a few old crocheted potholders and doilies. Your decorations are precious! A feast for the eyes. I love your clothespins wrapped in some homespun. I have lots of old clothespins that I still use but I think I'll use a few to wrap them like yours...so cute! TYFS!

    1. Aah you are so sweet. Thank you so much for such a kind compliment. My granny used to have some of the doilies made with the thicker cotton yarn. I have one right now on a small stool . I bet your are gorgeous and I admire that you have the skill to create your own. I am so honored that you are going to make wrap a few old clothespins in homespun and enjoy them on display for yourself. It is a cute, simple and quick craft that looks lovely in country decor. Have a beautiful week, my friend.
