Flurry & Flakes SAL- Snow Day - Block 2

Happy Happy Thursday! Brrr! It is a cold day. Nah not really , but it is for the FLURRY  & FLAKE snow family . Today I wanted to share Block 2 called "Snow Day". Yep! Even the snowchildren get out of school for Snow Days. Mama Flake is out with Junior as he has a bucket of snowballs ready for a snowball fight.

I embroidered SNOW DAY on a 10 1/2" white fabric using 2 strands of black floss using the backstitch. I then trimmed my block to 8 1/2" . Last week's post explains a little more about this SAL if you missed it.

If you would like to embroider SNOW DAY , grab the image below.

Many of you know that I am no longer able to create clickable links to jpg downloads.  Here is a little note about that situation. . This explains about getting the charts or doodles as well.

NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues. . Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print.  I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save .  . Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.

Last week I shared with you BLOCK 1 which was called " WINTER WELCOME". If you missed it, click on the colored text and you will be whisped back to that post.

Now I have one more thing to share with you today- a quick stitch called "LET IT SNOW" . This won't take no more than 30 minutes to stitch up and would be super cute as a dough bowl filler, but I  have decided to make mine into a little quilt. I will add some snowflake buttons to embellish it.

This is a choose your own color stitch. I used DMC 930 and white.  So if you would like to stitch LET IT SNOW, you know the drill as my daughter would say. Just grab that image below and go to town stitching. 😀🤗🧵 How's that sound?  Good I think.

Well , sweetie pies. I am off to stitch. I am trying to stay 1 week ahead of you . I will give you a hint on the next block Mr. Flake is going for a ride.

Have a warm and cozy day

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

  4. Snow Day is adorable, very much as I remember as a child in Illinois. So cute, I think that I am going to do these in a winter blue. How was your trip and relaxing time? Stitch everything you love. Warm hugs from sunny Arizona.

    1. Oh , Mary, these would look so pretty in blue. I am going to have to stitch some in blue in the future . We had a very relaxing trip. I took along my sewing machine and spent most of the days sewing as hubby hunted. It was heavenly. Lol. Hugs and blessings.

  7. Hi Melissa, I love these snowman blocks you are sharing! I have a very stupid question for you about how to transfer the designs onto my fabric. It has been decades since I have done any embroidery (I usually stick to cross stitch). To transfer the image, should I reverse the image, print it out, and heat set/press the design on the fabric or ? I am clueless on this lol 🙂 Thank you!! Laura

    1. That is a great question Laura. Thank you so much for asking. I just sorta fly by the seat of my pants on it but I just print it out and center my fabric over the design . I can usually see through the fabric, but if not I hold the pattern up against a window and place the fabric over it and then trace it with an embroidery transfer pen or pencil or sometimes I just use a regular pencil tracing very lightly. I hope this helps a bit and I truly hope you enjoy. Thank you again , my dear. Happy stitching.
