Good Sunday morning. It's a good day to pull your hair into a messy bun, stay in your jammies, and stitch the day away.
Let's go outside! It is a bit chilly so put on your robe!
I pulled out this quilt to work on . I have been spending 15- 20 minutes a day on it this week.
Hoping to get 2 blocks a day completed. I will be working on it again today. I bought this top years ago at the World's Longest Yard Sale.
Speaking of thrifty finds. Mr. Pinker and I went thrifting in Alabama earlier this week. My great find was this quilt top.
It had a tag that said "Made by Ray Ford's mom" . I have been trying to find a Ray Ford in that area but have yet to find him.
I look forward to quilting it, but have so many large quilts in the hoops right now so it will have to wait. But that is not going to stop me from enjoying it. I draped it over a bench for display in the kitchen.
I also got Hubby to hang the coat hook where I added some thrifted doilies that I got Tuesday as well. Oh yes! I still have my barn cookie jar out. Though it is a Christmas cookie jar, I am leaving it out a few more days. 😀
I finished my Snowman Recipe little quilt the other day.
I used strips of dad's shirt for the binding.
One of my cross stitch projects for the day will be "Grateful Heart Sampler " which is by Little House Needleworks.
It is an older design that was in " Love to Cross Stitch" November 2000 magazine. I was gifted this design a couple of years ago and love to pull it out at Thanksgiving and Valentines to work on. Eeeh! I am so close to a finish .

ReplyDeleteOh, I am so excited, Joy. I hope you are enjoying your Frosty's. I can certainly understand being nervous on trimming them. I always am too. I usually measure my blocks and find the center of each if I want to trim them down an inch all together then I take a half inch of each side. But if they are all the same size for example if you have them for example 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" and you do not want to trim them , then I wouldn't and just go ahead and add your sashings. I have done that before many times when the pattern said trim. Lol I will share my finish on Thursday and write about it. I hope you have a wonderful week my dear and I hope this helps . DeleteQuilting a little each day is a great idea. I usually hand quilt for a couple hours and then my wrist bothers me I have to quilt. I'll remember...moderation. It's funny to me you show the Christmas barn and say it's just for a couple more days. My husband received a shot gun for Christmas and it is sitting on the dining room table. I've decorated for valentines so it has a valentine tablecloth under it. He loves that gun. Each night he sits and handles it. Thank goodness no one is visiting because of covid. At least you only have a cookie container. Sheeeech😉Men and their guns!!! Patty Mc

My mom always says she can not wait till hunting season is over so the guns will be put up; she is sick of looking at them. Lol. Oh thank you so much, Louise. I love knowing about the quilter or piecer. Last year I bought a quilt at the thrift shop and it had the makers name on it. I was able to google her and found out she had passed away a few years ago. Her obituary told all about her hobbies including quilting and gardening. I am sure a family member had donated the quilt , but it was a treasure for me to find. Happy stitching.
