Good morning, sweet sunshine! Please do tell. Are you beginning to see signs of fall in your neck of the woods?
Eeeh! Today is officially the 1st day of fall. The mornings are cooler and the air is crisp. All of the warm fall colors and sweet smells are a delight to my senses. How about for you?
Let me share with you 2 "new to me" fall scents that my daughter got me at Walmart- Spiced Pumpkin Spice and A Thankful Harvest.
Mmm good. Lol I love the smell of food . Most of the time I have Orange Creamsicle brewing which Mr. Pinker says smells like Fruit Loops. I am ok with that. Lol .
In celebration of the Fall season, I have a little stitch for you. It is called Little Bits- Pumpkin Haul.
I was inspired by a little doll wagon that I fill with pumpkins each year.
This is a small - only measuring 40 x 40 and on 14 count aida that would measure about 2 7/8" square. I stitched mine of my usual tea/coffee dyed aida.
The floss colors in this piece are DMC 937, 310, 782, 838, 355, 720, 301, 930 and 754. Oh , but you could use whatever strikes your fancy.
I finished mine on a Dollar Tree chalkboard found in the craft section. I left the wood unfinished, but I may go back later and darken it up with some paint. I mounted the stitch on batting covered cardboard and then mounted it on a piece with fabric from hubby's old shirt. I'm getting a lot of miles out of this shirt.
I even used it in my Autumn Stamp finish that I did last year. Plus I am working on a little quilt from this fabric too. Lol. I hope hubby doesn't miss it.
Well, if you are interested just check out the pdfs below .
Many of you know , but I always like to leave this little disclaimer.
I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding that I have to put each page on separate pdf downloads because of the devices I use. I apologize for that. And I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and stitching my little designs.

I think a day of fall quilting is on my agenda and then Mr. Pinker is going to grill out this evening. Have a beautiful day, my sweet friends and as always...
Happy stitching, ya'll and Happy fall too!!!
Melisa
Thank you for the sweet visit. You always make my day!!!!

Hugs and Stitches !!!
Dedicated to my dear sister, Amy. We had so many fall plans in the works. I miss you. Love ya, Amo!
As usual your counted cross stitching is very cute! Yesterday I baked a pumpkin coffeecake, it's delicious! Today it's raining and the high is supposed to be 61*, definitely fall weather.
ReplyDeleteOh my, Pumpkin Coffeecake sounds amazing. I am going to have to find a recipe. It has cooled down in your area. It has been in the 70s here which has been nice. But this weekend it is supposed to heat up into the 80's. Enjoy that fall weather, Gretchen. Happy quilting and thank you so much.
DeleteYesterday felt like fall was here, the leaves are falling and it was raining... I left the window open all day so I could hear the leaves and rain falling on our roof. (I haven't been able to leave the window open in months!)
ReplyDeleteToday is also my oldest son's birthday! He's 21!
Your Little Bits Pumpkin Haul is adorable! I will have to look for that chalkboard at DT, I like how you used that, it's such a cute idea!
Both days sound so delightful, Jessica. I bet you felt a little teary eyed with your oldest turning 21 . I know I did when my girls turned that age. I hope you had an amazing birthday. I love listening to the rain on the roof. Hopefully I will be able to open my windows soon. Thank you so much for the sweet visit, Jessica and hope you enjoy the little stitch.
DeleteWe have one tree that the leaves turned red and are starting to fall. Otherwise, it’s still summer! Lol cute little x stitches! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLol no trees turning here yet, Penny. My crabapple tree is losing some leaves but maybe that is from the rain beating them down. Our temps have cooled a bit though. Hopefully you will have some cooler weather and signs of fall here soon. Hugs .
DeleteThis is darling, Melisa! It is raining here at the moment and is supposed to rain all day. Happy Fall!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like our rain headed your way, Robin. It had rained cats and dogs for days here. Thankfully it is let up now , but we do have swollen rivers about us. Hope you had a great 1st day of fall and are ready for the weekend. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Fall! I cannot wait to start baking pumpkin things. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall, Sandie. I am ready for some fall baking too. I have actually been debating on whether or not to get a big ole' pumpkin and do some canning. Pumpkin pie would be good in the winter too. Have a fabulous weekend, my dear. Hugs.
Christel

Happy Fall, Melisa! Here in Phoenix it is still summer, fall will happen but it is better up north in Flagstaff. My son and I usually go camping the first week of October (my birthday month) to see the Aspens in full Fall Beauty. Anything pumpkin is for me and then it is time for soups and chili in November. Sweet lil wagon for Fall, I will add this to my seasonal goodies. Thank you so much for your time and talent. I love the use of the hubbies plaid shirt. Hugs to you and family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday in October, Mary. I can only imagine how beautiful the Aspens are in the fall. I love pumpkin rolls, pumpkin pies. Lol anything pumpkin and speaking of chili.I had my 1st bowl for the season here the other day. It was good! Lol Sending hugs to your and your family. Thank you so much for always making my day, Mary.
DeleteThis little freebie is just perfect for fall, Melisa! Here in western PA, things are just starting to change colors a bit--we are very late this year. Sending you a hug--I know the next few months will be very difficult without your sweet sister ♥
ReplyDeleteIt bet it is just stunning in your area especially when the trees are in full bloom of fall colors. The trees have not started to change here, but hopefully we will enjoy splashes of color soon. Thank you so much for the warm virtual hug , my sister loved the holidays as much as I did and we did all kinds of activities together. It will be quite lonely , but I do have our memories. Hugs and blessings.
DeleteHere in Australia we have just started Spring. Your little pumpkin haul is lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt is so odd to think that ya'll are enjoying spring weather, but I know you are so looking forward to the warm weather and beautiful blooms that await you. Thank you so much, Christine for the sweet visit. Happy stitching and quilting.
DeleteThis is my favorite season, even though I do nothing special to celebrate it. Maybe I should change that. Thanks again for your adorable freebie. And Happy Fall Y’all🎃
ReplyDeleteIt is one of my favorite times of the year too, Jennie. I got to go to my 1st fall festival of the year this past weekend. It was fun. I hope you have a blessed weekend and enjoy this fall weather. Happy Fall. Hugs.
