Good morning, dear friends. It is another beautiful spring day in my neck of the woods. The birdies are fluttering about the feeders and singing the sweetest tunes.
Flowers are blooming and bees are buzzing.Well at least carpenter bees are.
I am so happy you stopped by for a visit. I have been working on some patriotic stitches and loving every minute of it. I have gotten so caught up in stitching red , white and blue that I have already started decorating for the patriotic season.
Let me introduce you to sweet Betsy Ewe. She is one of my newest patriotic stitches.
Betsy is very similar to Erin Ewe which I shared last month. Betsy is actually Erin's twin. Lol
Erin was in an Irish tweed cap awaiting St. Patrick's Day festivities. So many sweet stitchers stitched her which warmed my heart. Thank you so much; you really made this gal happy.
Betsy sports a little American flag on her back and sits in Uncle Sam's Top Hat.
Two stars flank both sides of her. Only 5 floss colors were used in this one . I used DMC to stitch Betsy which included, blanc, black, 347, 930, and 782. These were all flosses in my stash.
I finished her on this cute Dollar Tree unfinished plaque found in the craft section. It already had the jute cord; I removed it and painted it white.
I am quite happy with how thick the wood is; so this little piece can be hung or stand up on its own. Pretty cool, hey. ( It doesn't take much to get me excited - lol) .
I added a teeny ripped black and white gingham ruffle from an old bed sheet as embellishment around the stitch. Have I told you before how much I love thrifty quick finishes?
If you are interested, you can stitch Betsy. Just click on the pdfs below. Many of you know , but I always like to leave this little disclaimer.
I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding that I have to put each page on separate pdf downloads because of the devices I use. I apologize for that. And I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and stitching my little designs.

Before you leave I wanted to share my newest patriotic buy.
Can you guess where it is from? You are right!! The Dollar Tree. Lol. Our DT is getting in a few things which makes me so excited. Now, I needed this sign like I need a hole in the head , but it was too cute to leave behind. Lol. I am sure I will find a perfect spot for it.
Thank you so much for visiting me, my dear friends. It is always a delight . As always...
Happy stitching, ya'll

Hugs and stitches,
I love how creatively you finish off your projects. I don't ever seem to think outside the box in that regard.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Tammy . I have to admit that I struggle a bit on finishing. I have to finish on a small budget and love to use what I have if possible. But I am pleased when a piece comes together. Have a lovely week, dear.

DeleteThank you so much for this chart. I loved the shamrock sheep and wanted to stitch it but didn’t get the chance. I kept looking at it and loved it. So now I can stitch it for the summer.

DeleteLOL I'm a Dollar Tree crafter. I always find something that can be used for finishing. I love how you used the fabric around your piece. I've been using more ripped homespun these days. Really adds that primitive touch. Your little sheep are adorable. Thank you for sharing your talent. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLol the Dollar Tree and Goodwill are my favorite stores. Love those thrifty finishes. I enjoy using homespun too, but it is hard to come by around here. Have a great day, Angela and thank you
DeleteMelisa,

DeleteThat is a great sign! I wish I'd seen it back then, but who knows what will turn up this year? I love having new things to hang on my door, and it's time to get the Valetine's Day hanging up on there, I keep forgetting to take down Christmas!
