Spring on the Farm Freebie

Well, hello my sweet friends. It is springtime on the farm; this is one of the busiest times of the year. A lot  is going on. It is time for calves to be born, hens are nesting, and there is a buzz of excitement as the weather warms.

I am so excited to introduce my new little cross stitch "Spring on the Farm".
I just think it is as cute as can be . I had to take a photo of it with my tiered tray by my corner sink. That is where I have lots of Pioneer Woman pieces and of course chickens.
What is happening on this little farm? There are sheep grazing about. Dog gonnit !  I hope they do not get into the strawberry or carrot patches. The two patches of strawberries are producing the yummiest berries, and of course the baskets are in the field for picking. You are welcome to try a berry- My personal favorite is "Sweet Charlies" .

Chicks have been born, and still one hen is nesting.

This is a small measuring 53 x 53. I stitched mine on 14 count tea dyed aida.   I used 9 DMC floss colors. I stitch from stash ; my only regret is not choosing a brighter yellow for the chicks. Of course, if you stitched this you could stitch them a lot brighter.
A red barn and tractor warms my heart.

I finished it on a Dollar Tree tray that I painted white. I used scrap fabric and mounted it on a piece of cardboard and popped it into the bottom of the tray.
The lace trim was from the Dollar Tree too.
A Dollar Tree tray for finishing.
If you would like to stitch, Spring on the Farm, just click the pdfs below.  Most of you know but I always like to say that I am not a professional designer, but am just sharing for fun. I am also not very tech savvy so each page is on its own pdf download.

I am so happy you dropped by the farm today. If you would like to join me in weeding the berry patch, it would be greatly appreciated , but I have to forewarn you- it is back breaking work. So if you see me scooting in the field and chickweed a flying  you know what I am doing. Lol.
Happy stitching, ya'll

    1. Aaww thank you so much, Kathy. It was teeny to stitch that it almost looks like a chunky little lawn mower too. Lol. I had so much fun stitching these little motifs though. Have a fabulous week , dear.

  8. Really cute, Melisa! I especially love the tractor in this one--and the sheep, of course! It looks great in the Dollar Tree tray. I haven't been to Dollar Tree (or anywhere else pretty much!) in over a year. Now that I'm fully vaccinated, it's time to venture out and explore what they have to offer again. Hope you have a wonderful day ♥

    1. Oh thank you so much, Carol. I know you feel a lot better about venturing out now that you are vaccinated. The Dollar Tree has slowly been building up a craft section which is nice. I hope you find some great goodies when you do go out. Happy stitching.

    1. Aaah thank you so much, Robin. I had a lot of fun stitching it. I do not know which is my favorite motif- I think it would be between the tractor which I giggle because it almost looks like a lawn mower too lol and I love the barn. Have a lovely evening, Hugs.

  11. I will pass on the weeding offer. It won’t be long and I will be doing my own. Not a favorite past time. Another fun filled post.
