A very merry Monday to you, Sweetness. Gosh, I do believe it will be another glorious day! ๐
How about we head to my small foyer to see what quilts I put out on the thrifted shutters.

Now tell me. Do you have a favorite place that you like to decorate seasonally?
If you have a chance, drop back by tomorrow . I will be sharing more country clutter including the cross stitch pieces that I used in the foyer for the month.
As always,
Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Dedicated to my dear sister, Amy. I miss and love you so much. ❤๐ผ
Two more thrifty finds that I purchased on the World's Longest Yard Sale. A cake plate and deviled eggs dish- perfect for the upcoming holidays.
I still have my favorite egg dish out for display . It has faux eggs in it.
I am joining these lovely ladies' link parties. I hope you check them out; they always have so many wonderful projects going on and provide the opportunity for other needleworkers to meet.

Oooh such pretty quilts! ๐
ReplyDeleteI have a dedicated spot for my decorations too. My hubby built me a beautiful shelf (one of those cube ones) I use to display my seasonal cross stitches and decorations on and he also built a matching quilt ladder that's right next to it so I can display my quilts. ๐ฅฐ Wish we had a bigger house though ๐
Thanks for sharing your collection and inspiring us! ๐ค

Aaaw it is so wonderful your dear hubby is so supportive and built you the perfect display area for your stitching and quilts. He is a keeper! Do you change out your quilts seasonally too? I know what you mean about a bigger house- I tell hubby I need one just for my quilts and stitching. LOL. Safe travels, dear Alex and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteI change them out if I have some that go with the season/theme. I'm a fairly new quilter, so my collection isn't super big yet ๐
DeleteYour foyer is a joyous place, Melisa decorated with your quilts and other pretties. 'Tis a most welcoming spot.
ReplyDeleteAaaw thank you so much, Kim. You are always so kind. I am slowly moving my decor towards fall with the warm yellows. It will be here in no time. Enjoy your week. hugs.
DeleteOh my goodness, oh my goodness this is a delightful and wonderful post. I'm crazy about your Green Apple Butter quilt - it's beyond adorable. Seriously cute! I have a huge pile of small quilts and only a handful are quilted. It's time to get busy. LOL I have very little desire to make larger quilts. I usually have plans to decorate for the holidays but I seldom "git her done". LOL Do you happen to have any sage advice??? I will share that I have a huge stressor happening in my life that has me frozen in place - not sure that makes sense. Happy, happy Monday dear lady and thank you for sharing your beauties. Big, big hugs, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteGood morning, sweet Darlene. Oh I know what you mean about having many quilts in the wings waiting to be quilted. I think we both need a "Quilting- fairy" who will help us along don't you? LOL. Shucks, I do not have a green thumb when it comes to sage. I sure wish I did though. Sending you a big hug as you face the stressful situation. Bless your heart. Just know that you are fabulous and loved and I am here for you if you need me! Blessings and lots of love.
DeleteWhat beautiful quilts. And nice thriftfinds. Oh my godness, I am sorting out what I never use. Bur my stitching things......NO!
ReplyDeleteYour decorations is really adorable.
Hugs from hot Germany,
Gabi
Aaaw thank you so much, Gabi. It is always a joy to pull out the quilts as the seasons begin to change. I do need to sort through some of my stuff too. I did some rearranging earlier which leads to cleaning. LOL. I am like you - stitching and sewing items have to stay. LOL. Warm hugs
DeleteSuch gorgeous quilts, Melisa. Love them all! ๐♀️๐ค๐ Barbara @flashinscissors xxx❤️
ReplyDeleteAaaw thank you so much, Barbara. I am slowly getting ready for fall. I have been pulling out lots of sunflowers though I am tempted to pull out my pumpkin quilts too. LOL. Have a great day . Hugs
DeleteI love all your quilts ! They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAaw you are so kind, Sandi. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I think the quilts are always the first thing I want to change out for the seasons. . Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteVery pretty quilts. My seasonal quilt display is pretty much limited to the couch and my recliner.
ReplyDeleteI love that idea, Kate. I used to change out the afghans and add quilts to the comfy chair. I do need to get back in that habit. They always brighten up the sitting area plus they are comfy to snuggle in. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteWell, no seasonal quilts. I do have a small wall, where I change out my monthly and seasonal cross stitch smalls. I also have a hangar on one of the doors for seasonal cross stitch. Love your quilts - especially Hey Dey. Will be getting started on the bow tie quilt (pic I sent to you) when we get home to FL - looking forward to hand quilting it. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to make a small display area in our camper just to make it homey looking. I am so glad you are able to enjoy your stitching while traveling full time, Donna. You get to enjoy the best of both worlds. I am very excited about your Bow Tie quilt. What a beauty it is! Lucky gal. Warm hugs and Blessings.
Deletegood morning beautiful Melisa.
ReplyDeleteall of the quilts are wonderful and i do no have a favorite. i hang and lay quilts everywhere - on the bed, wall, couch, back of a chair, stacked on chairs, everywhere. i love quilts. i love color and quilts add lots and lots of color.

you have a lovely heart and i know you are such a caring person. your a wonderful daughter, wife, mama, gramma, and anything else that comes to mind.
i hope you have a fantastic Monday. my daughter is here from Arizona and i am so happy that she is here. she'll be with us until Thursday and then she's off to see my grandsons (her favorite humans) in Washington for a few days. we will see here again when she returns from Washington to pickup her puppy, my grandpuppy (12 year old Dusty).
blessings and love are on the way to you. add a great big squeezy hug in the mix.
Debra Broyles
Good morning, sweet Debra. Oh how exciting that your dear daughter is home for a visit. I do hope that you enjoy every minute of her stay. So you will be grandpuppy sitting for a few days? I am sure Dusty will keep you busy as well. Though it may want to stay inside if it is too hot to be out and about. You sound exactly like me-- with quilts here and there and everywhere. LOL. I am so glad that you have them out so you can enjoy them. They are just too pretty to put away in a chest or linen closet aren't they? Now you enjoy the rest of the week and I wish your daughter safe travels when she sets out for Washington. Sending you love and blessings sweet friend. Big hugs from the holler.
DeleteI love seeing your quilt decked out shutters, Melisa. I really love them all, but I think my favorite is the mini one. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Robin. I have to admit the mini was a whole lot of fun to make. I started cutting fabrics for a new mini today. LOL Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteSounds like you had fun on your garage sale trip;) Yes I decorate our foyer in one corner for the different holidays and seasons.
ReplyDeleteOh we did Vicki. We did not go to as many as usual , but that was ok. I didn't need anything . LOL. Aaah I bet your foyer is gorgeous . You make the best seasonal quilts! Happy quilting. Hugs
DeleteVery pretty displays Melisa! I used to collect deviled egg dishes as well as cake plates, so I LOVE your purchases.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun, Linda. I used to have a glass deviled egg dish but for the life of me I have not been able to find it so I was thrilled to pick this one up for a dollar. It will be great to use for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now I could imagine you collecting pie plates, Linda. LOL I know you like making pies like I do. Have a great day. Warm hugs.
DeleteLooks like a pretty start for Fall,I have a few quilt tops in the sewing room that will never get quilted,I luv them just the way they are,I have friends & family over for Sunday dinner the 1st day of Fall so decorating is about to start happening lol
ReplyDeleteOh Helen, I am just itching to start decorating for fall. Pulling out the sunflowers and warm yellows is my slow start though I have to admit that I want to pull out the pumpkins. I do hope you will share some of your decor. I know it is as cute as a button. Warm hugs.
DeleteWhat a great finds you are sharing from the longest yard sale! Beautiful quilts on display at your home too. Monthly is my goal to switch out quilts. . .but, I've been remiss in that for the past three months!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful goal, Terry. It gives a refresh plus you get to enjoy your pretties. You have been very busy this year. You will get back into the groove of changing out your quilts soon. Have a lovely day, dear. Hugs.
DeleteI really like your shutter display idea--I don't have a specific display spot for seasonal quilts--mostly on dining table and draped over my Grand-mere's old caned rocker...I would love a quilt ladder though--on the lookout for one that doesn't cost the earth!!
ReplyDeleteHot and humid here today--82 already at 9:30 a.m. and dewpoint up to 70--AC for me hugs, Julierose
I am not sure why I started hanging my quilts over the shutters, but I have done that for years. Oh a quilt ladder would be delightful. I bet your quilts look so lovely on your dining table and your Grandmere caned rocker. I have always wanted to decorate my table with a quilt, but have yet to do so. I do need to try that sometime soon. I bet your rocker looks so cozy. Rain is in our forecast today, but we shall see. Stay cool, Julierose. Hugs.

DeleteYou have some lovely quilts to display. The cake plate and egg dish were nice finds. Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's cross stitch pieces.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Jeanna. I am slowly easing my way into fall decorating. The cake plate and egg dish will be put to good use here soon. Have a beautiful day. Hugs.
DeleteI love seeing your quilts as you change them out for the seasons. Hey Day is wonderful - the cheddar with red and blue is such a great combination. And Green Apple Butter just makes me want to get out some scrappy squares and sew! Lately I'm decorating the small chest by our front door for seasons and holidays. It's in August sunflower mode right now!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your seasonal quilts and stitches, Diann. They just warm my heart. Sunflowers certainly brighten up the entrance don't they? I am really enjoying having my sunflower pieces out. I pulled out some scraps earlier and began cutting them for a new small quilt. Hopefully, I will have time to work on it today.Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh I do hope you are enjoying your new apartment. I bet your kitchen and bathrooms are just beautiful decorated in all your pretties. I have to admit that the kitchen is one of my favorite places to decorate too not just in seasonal stuff. Have a beautiful day, sweet friend. Hugs and love.
DeletePretty plates. I always forget my egg plate when I make deviled eggs. I remember when you made Hey Day. Such a bright and cheery quilt. I really like that pattern. I am not a big seasonal decorator. I have a bowl and pitcher on the side board that I put seasonal things in like leaves, flowers, snowballs with faces, dead branches with little ghost or snowflakes ornaments hanging. Nothing compared to your amazing bounty.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Ginny. I had been in the market for a glass egg plate. For the life of me I cannot find my old one, but I am sure it will show up now. LOL. Is your bowl and pitcher like the old timey ones? I just love those. I bet it is so festive and pretty decorated for the seasons. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteBeautiful as always, Melisa! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Brenda. You are so very kind. I hope your week is off to a lovely start. Hugs.
DeleteWe all love seasonal displays, ats, dont we. I have a small home, and just inside the door is a spot I put seasonal wallhanging. There is a snowy winter one hanging at the moment, and next month or so, I'll be getting my Spring one out for its turn. I also hang larger seasonal wall hangings over the sofa and my quilt rack is beside that. So I'm lucky to be surrounded by quilts.
ReplyDeleteThe entry way is a pretty place to display seasonal quilts isn't it, Jenny? I remember seeing some of your over the sofa quilts and they were beauties. We are so fortunate to have a hobby that brings us so much joy aren't we ? Thank you for the sweet visit, Jenny. I know you are looking forward to spring weather. Warm hugs.
DeleteMelisa,
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are a pure delight to see!! So pretty!!! Thanks so much for visiting and for your kind words about my Kitchen...It is my favorite room to decorate!!

Aaah thank you so much, Deb. This is the first area that I decorate when I change out things seasonally. Your kitchen is a delight and is always a treat to visit! Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteYou have such a variety of projects going on. LOVE how you display your wares in so many lovely places. Awww! The satisfaction of creativity and thanks for passing it on to so many of us!
